The automotive and mobility sector is undergoing a major transformation. There is a constant search for which alternative powertrain systems in the transportation mix (e.g. electric, hydrogen or synthetic fuels) will be the most viable and sustainable in the long term for each particular vehicle category, and which other technological innovations will ensure breakthroughs in the coming decades. (Technologies that are taking advantage, of the digital twin, blended reality or artificial intelligence and self-driving technology researches, from vehicle design, production and testing to solving the challenges of everyday road transport - be it safety, traffic management or even emission reduction).

Firms are seeking to be present in as many research and development areas as possible, employing the best engineers and establishing strategic partnerships to optimise their development resources, reduce their risks and avoid a lasting competitive disadvantage. Due to the longer-term nature of research and development activities, HUMDA Lab's operating model is also based on long-term partnerships. We carefully select our research, development, support and subsystem delivery partners and seek to establish long-term collaborations to ensure the achievement of common goals.

In the course of our recently initiated research projects we have succeeded in concluding strategic cooperation agreements with several academic institutions, development partners and automotive proving grounds. For our existing and future projects, we are open to expanding our partnerships and jointly defining new areas of research, where our partners can rely with confidence on our experienced researchers base, our development background, and our extensive laboratory and test track infrastructure.

We have a team of experts with deep knowledge and experience. Relying on our expertise in the field of automotive system engineering, race/performance engineering, simulations, A.I. development, software engineering, test development, project and product management, we are capable to drive End-to-End (concept to small serial implementation) R&D projects.

Motorsport background

Motorsport and competitiveness is in our DNA. Our engineering work has been defined by racing projects since the university years.

Whether it is about establishing the first formula student team in Hungary, up to WTCC, WTCR, ETCR and Formula 1 race engineering and development engineering tasks, our team has extensive experience.

Academic and industrial partnership

We have a wide range of close connections directly to academic partners and key players of the motorsports and automotive market. We aim to expand our research partners and suppliers, build lasting partnerships with them due to the scientific nature and longer lead times of the automotive R&D projects.

Easy access to key infrastructures

As part of the Széchenyi István University Foundation, we have a wide range of infrastructure at our disposal. Part of this are the laboratories provided by the University, the ZalaZONE automotive proving ground, which is excellent for testing autonomous vehicles and is a unique site in the Eastern-Central European region, and the competition infrastructure including the Hungaroring F1 track and other racing sites.
